A number of owners in this case study building were motivated to become involved in the LEAF project in order to save energy and reduce their bills. They hoped the project would identify appropriate technical solutions and help them to communicate these with others in their building. These owners had previously suggested the installation of roof insulation at a general assembly but this idea had been rejected by other owners.
The following measures were recommended for this case study building during the project: roof, cellar and wall insulation, mechanical ventilation, and a system to regulate the building’s heating system. Owners have decided to proceed with the installation of roof insulation which is projected to reduce annual fuel bills for the building by approximately €593.
