Overview: LEAF project partner Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics (IBP) presented at the Experts Forum for energy efficiency at Munich’s Bauzentrum. The Bauzentrum is a centre for developing sustainable building technologies and processes with the aim of improving knowledge sharing, education and networking ideas amongst those involved in new builds and retrofit.
The event brought together a range of stakeholders including property managers, engineers, architects, local government officials, finance specialists, lawyers, energy efficiency consultants and property owner associations.
The event comprised presentations from a range of speakers. This included Fraunhofer IBP whose presentation on the LEAF project featured:
- An overview and background of LEAF
- The technical toolkit and it’s features
- The main motivations of owner communities who take the decision to make energy efficiency improvements; as observed in LEAF German case studies

The presentations prompted some lively discussions about the cost effectiveness of energy efficiency retrofit measures, as well as financing and funding options. Feedback from delegates on the technical toolkit at the event was positive.
